. . . after my father had made an end of speaking the words of his dream, and also of exhorting them to all diligence . . .1 Nephi 10:2
Live the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all diligence.
Does diligent describe the way you are following Jesus? What needs to change? Do you want it to change?
And he also spake concerning the prophets, how great a number had testified of these things, concerning this Messiah, of whom he had spoken, or this Redeemer of the world.1 Nephi 10:5
Study the words of the prophets and look for their message about the Messiah.
How have the words of Isaiah deepened your faith in Jesus Christ? What about Samuel? Ezekiel? Daniel?
Wherefore, all mankind were in a lost and in a fallen state, and ever would be save they should rely on this Redeemer.1 Nephi 10:6
Rely on Jesus as your daily support and strength and for your salvation.
Have you ever tried saving yourself? How has that worked out for you? How about relying on yourself a little too much? What happens when you turn it all over to the Lord?
I, Nephi, was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is the gift of God unto all those who diligently seek him . . .
For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost . . .1 Nephi 10:17, 19
Desire to know the things of God and diligently seek to know them.
Can you remember a time when you diligently sought to understand something related to the gospel? How did you search for it? What was the outcome?
For he is the same yesterday, today, and forever; and the way is prepared for all men from the foundation of the world, if it so be that they repent and come unto him.1 Nephi 10:18
Repent. And come to Jesus Christ.
How has repenting brought you closer to Heavenly Father?
. . . even that he should baptize the Messiah with water.
And after he had baptized the Messiah with water, he should behold and bear record that he had baptized the Lamb of God, who should take away the sins of the world.1 Nephi 10:9-10
Get baptized. And if you already have been, worthily partake of the sacrament.
How did you feel when you were baptized? What do you do to make taking the sacrament something meaningful each week?
