for I am desirous for the welfare of your souls. Yea, mine anxiety is great for you; and ye yourselves know that it ever has been.
2 Nephi 6:3
Precept #1
Desire the welfare of your soul and the souls of the people around you.
Whose soul have you felt concern about this week? What have you done to facilitate their spiritual well-being?
Passage #2
And I speak unto you for your sakes, that ye may learn and glorify the name of your God.
2 Nephi 6:4
Precept #2
Learn and glorify the name of Jesus Christ.
Who is your God? Do you glorify Him for all He does? When others take His name in vain do you think to give Him praise?
Passage #3
And now, the words which I shall read are they which Isaiah spake concerning all the house of Israel; wherefore, they may be likened unto you, for ye are of the house of Israel. And there are many things which have been spoken by Isaiah which may be likened unto you, because ye are of the house of Israel.
2 Nephi 6:5
Precept #3
Study the words of Isaiah and apply them to yourself.
When it comes to the Isaiah chapters in the Book of Mormon do you skip over them? Or do you try to apply them in your every day?
Passage #4
. . . the Lord will be merciful unto them, that when they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer, they shall be gathered together again to the lands of their inheritance.
2 Nephi 6:11
Precept #4
Come to the knowledge of your Redeemer – who He is, what He has done, what He expects, and what He has promised.
What do you know about Jesus Christ? Has He told you yet that He has paid the price of your sins?
Passage #5
For the people of the Lord are they who wait for him.
2 Nephi 6:13
Precept #5
Wait for the Lord. He is true and faithful.
What was the last thing you waited for the Lord to give you? How long did it take? What’s the longest you have ever had to wait for a desired answer or blessing?
