Abiding Precepts – 2 Nephi 23

Passage #1

Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

2 Nephi 23:9

Precept #1

Don’t sin. Be righteous.


How are you doing at removing sin from your daily life?


Passage #2

And I will punish the world for evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay down the haughtiness of the terrible.

2 Nephi 23:11

Precept #2

Stop being arrogant and proud.


What did you do today to set aside the pride which is often applauded and encouraged by the world?


Passage #3

I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

2 Nephi 23:12

Precept #3

Value people more than you value things.


Who did you set aside your things for in order to spend time with them last week?


Passage #4

Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver and gold, nor shall they delight in it.

2 Nephi 23:17

Precept #4

Don’t give preferential or different treatment to those who have lots of money than you do to those who do not have as much.


Do you treat everyone the same regardless of status or wealth?
