Read the full chapter here: 2 Nephi 27

Passage #1

Wherefore, because of the things which are sealed up, the things which are sealed shall not be delivered in the day of the wickedness and abominations of the people. Wherefore the book shall be kept from them. . . .

And the day cometh that the words of the book which were sealed shall be read upon the house tops; and they shall be read by the power of Christ; and all things shall be revealed unto the children of men which ever have been among the children of men, and which ever will be even unto the end of the earth.

2 Nephi 27:8, 11

Precept #1

Live worthy of God’s future revelations – the revelations God could not give us because of iniquity

What was the last thing God revealed to you personally? How is that related to your way of living? What was the last thing God revealed to His children at large? What could He reveal if we were more righteous?

Passage #2

. . . and wo be unto him that rejecteth the word of God!

2 Nephi 27:14

Precept #2

Don’t reject God’s word.

What was the last thing God has said which you embraced with all your might, mind, and soul?

Passage #3

And now, because of the glory of the world and to get gain will they say this, and not for the glory of God.

2 Nephi 27:16

Precept #3

Do God’s work for His glory – not your own.

How do you give glory to God in the work you do every day? What about your service in His kingdom – is it for your glory or His?

Passage #4

For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith.

2 Nephi 27:23

Precept #4

Believe that God will perform miracles in your life and act in faith on His promises to you that He will do so.

What was the last miracle God performed in your life? What was the last one you wanted Him to perform? How was each situation tied to how you exercised faith in Jesus and His promises to you?

Passage #5

Forasmuch as this people draw near unto me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their hearts far from me, and their fear towards me is taught by the precepts of men –

2 Nephi 27:25

Precept #5

Let God – not other people – define how you revere and worship Him. Then do so with all your soul, not just your lips.

Is taking the sacrament a soul changing experience or just something you do?
