Abiding Precepts – 2 Nephi 30

Passage #1

. . . For behold, except ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall all likewise perish . . .

2 Nephi 30:1

Precept #1

Keep the commandments of God.


Are you more righteous than the people around you or are you blind to your own follies?


Passage #2

For behold, I say unto you that as many of the Gentiles as will repent are the covenant people of the Lord; and as many of the Jews as will not repent shall be cast off; for the Lord covenanteth with none save it be with them that repent and believe in his Son, who is the Holy One of Israel.

2 Nephi 30:2

Precept #2

Repent and believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and make covenants with Him.


Do you believe Jesus is the Holy One of Israel? What does that mean to you? And why is it important in the first place?


Passage #3

. . . and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a pure and a delightsome people.

2 Nephi 30:6

Precept #3

Become a pure and delightsome person.


How do you work to develop purity of mind and soul?


Passage #4

There is nothing which is secret save it shall be revealed; there is no work of darkness save it shall be made manifest in the light; and there is nothing which is sealed upon the earth save it shall be loosed.

2 Nephi 30:17

Precept #4

Don’t try to hide from God.


Do you have a sin you think you have hidden from the Lord?


Passage #5

. . . and Satan shall have power over the hearts of the children of men no more . . .

2 Nephi 30:18

Precept #5

Don’t give Satan power over your heart. And where you have already take it back!


How do you free your heart from Satan’s grasp?
