Read the full chapter here: 2 Nephi 10

Passage #1

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved.

2 Nephi 10:24

Precept #1

Embrace and accept the will of God for your life above your own. Consider following it to be more important than anything else.

Do you let God direct your life? Or are you so head strong that you haven’t even considered that He might have different, better, or more important objectives for you than you do for yourself?

Passage #2

Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life.

2 Nephi 10:23

Precept #2

Choose to be happy.

Does being happy help you feel closer to God? Do you regularly choose to be happy?

Passage #3

. . . for it is a choice land, saith God unto me, above all other lands, wherefore I will have all men that dwell thereon that they shall worship me, saith God.

2 Nephi 10:19

Precept #3

Value God’s gifts to you by worshipping Him.

What blessings has God given you? Do you reverence Him for those things?

Passage #4

. . . for they who are not for me are against me, saith our God.

2 Nephi 10:16

Precept #4

Stand up for the Lord. Be on His side and no one else’s.

Do you find that when you get into controversial discussions you agree with ideas that are contrary to the Lord and His teachings just to keep the peace? Or do you find a way to respectfully stand up for what is right in the eyes of the Lord?

Passage #5

For he that raiseth up a king against me shall perish, for I, the Lord, the king of heaven, will be their king, and I will be a light unto them forever, that hear my words.

2 Nephi 10:14

Precept #5

Let the Lord Jesus Christ be your King and your light throughout your life.

In what ways can you let Jesus be your light right now?
