Passage #1

And now I, Nephi, write more of the words of Isaiah, for my soul delighteth in his words. For I will liken his words unto my people . . .

2 Nephi 11:2

Precept #1

Liken the scriptures to yourself. Find situations in the scriptures which are similar to your own and see how others used their faith to help them navigate life.

What scriptures do you feel relate to your circumstances right now? Do you need to go search for some to see how to exercise faith in the Lord for those particular situations?

Passage #2

And also my soul delighteth in the covenants of the Lord which he hath made to our fathers . . .

2 Nephi 11:5

Precept #2

Delight in the covenants God has made with you.

Do your covenants with the Lord feel like a burden? Or do they bring you joy?

Passage #3

. . . yea my soul delighteth in his grace, and in his justice, and power, and mercy in the great and eternal plan of deliverance from death.

2 Nephi 11:5

Precept #3

Delight in God’s grace.

How have you received God’s grace today? How do you feel about the experience?

Passage #4

But there is a God, and he is Christ, and he cometh in the fulness of his own time.

2 Nephi 11:7

Precept #4

Be patient in exercising your faith in the Lord – He moves on His own time table. And it’s always better than your own!

How long is too long for you to wait for God’s answers to your requests? Does it rock your faith when He doesn’t answer right away?

Passage #5

And now I write some of the words of Isaiah, that whoso of my people shall see these words may lift up their hearts and rejoice for all men.

2 Nephi 11:8

Precept #5

Lift up your heart and rejoice in the Lord!

Do you feel joyful when you remember the Lord and His interactions with you and your trust in Him?
